Stephen Colbert Cannot Believe Pamela Anderson Named Her Sourdough Starter

Pamela Anderson recently published her cookbook “I LOVE YOU: Recipes From the Heart.” On October 15, the actor discussed the same with Stephen Colbert on his late-night talk show. She opened up about her motivation behind getting her recipes published in the form of a book. Anderson also touched upon her sourdough recipe, revealing her starter has a name, which left the show host shocked.

Pamela Anderson reveals why her sourdough starter has a name

Pamela Anderson recently appeared as a guest star on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” She discussed everything about food and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Moreover, the duo bonded over their shared history of having written cookbooks, with Stephen Colbert having published “Does This Taste Funny? Recipes Our Family Loves” earlier this year and Anderson having recently published “I LOVE YOU: Recipes From the Heart.”

During the interview, the actor revealed how her sons were the reason she decided to publish her recipes. It all began with her gifting them a recipe box with an engraving of “I love you” for their housewarming. Her sons were quick to recognize the potential their mom’s gift held, letting her know that they were taking it to a publisher.

Pamela Anderson then followed up the sweet interaction between her and her sons by opening up about being a “big baker” who “loves sourdough.” She also stated that she knows Colbert has a sourdough starter, which the host said was 150 years old. The model started perfecting her sourdough recipe much later. She started working on her sourdough starter about three years ago.

Anderson also revealed her sourdough starter’s name — Astrid. When Colbert questioned her choice of name, the actor stated that it was named after the “Viking warrior princess.” She introduced her sourdough starter Astrid as a “bubbly” and “strong” hard worker who has made her lots of bread in the past.

Other than sourdough, she loves a good soup recipe. Anderson said that her kids “always expect soup when they come.” Besides sourdough and soup, she also makes pierogi and dill pickles and has an interest in canning and pickling.
