An internal memo about Wendy’s Krabby Patty and other SpongeBob-themed items has been reportedly leaked. The fast-food chain will apparently be introducing several SpongeBob SquarePants meals on October 8, 2024, as part of the show’s 25th anniversary. The main items will be a Krabby Patty burger, also known as a Krabby Patty Kollab with Paramount, and a Frosty with tropical flavors. Here’s what we know so far about the Wendy’s x SpongeBob menu releasing in late 2024.
Wendy’s SpongeBob-themed meals are limited edition
The Wendy’s limited-edition Krabby Patty Meal includes the restaurant’s version of the show’s signature Krabby Patty, a Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty, and a Hot & Crispy Medium Fry.
This is according to a supposedly official press release leaked on Reddit, which describes Wendy’s Krabby Patty as a “premium” cheeseburger with a “secret Krabby Patty Sauce.” This is paired with the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty that is a Vanilla Frosty with a swirl of pineapple mango puree.
According to the key dates section in the memo, these novelty SpongeBob items will go live on October 8 and have “disengagement” on November 11. So it looks like these items will be available for purchase for at least a month and over the Halloween holiday season.
At the time of writing, Wendy’s has yet to confirm the existence of this SpongeBob cross-promotion. In a statement to TODAY, a spokesperson for the fast food chain said, “While we can’t confirm what’s coming down Wendy’s innovation pipeline, we can share that we’re always looking to bring fans new menu items inspired by our fans’ cravings.”
In the Nickelodeon series, the Krabby Patty is a signature item of the Krusty Krab restaurant and has a secret formula that rival Plankton attempts to steal as a running gag throughout the show. The burger has a top bun with sesame seeds, sea tomatoes, pickles, sea onions, sea cheese, sea tomatoes, ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard. The ingredients of the patty and sauce are mostly unknown, but some confirmed ingredients include flour, turmeric, barnacle shavings, salt, and love.
Other restaurant chains are releasing their own novelty and seasonal items this fall, with Starbucks releasing numerous pumpkin spice items and Krispy Kreme offering Barbie-theme donuts and Dr. Pepper donuts.
