In the final episode of 9-1-1 Season 6, a dangerous accident takes place involving a mother-daughter duo and vehicles getting rammed into each other. The crew decided to put in all their efforts to rescue the victims on time. However, things took a dangerous turn when a sleep-deprived driver ended up crashing the truck into a pillar under the bridge. The entire team, including Chimney, Bobby, and Buck, got involved in the accident.

Further, viewers witness Chimey and the team in a bad condition due to the accident. Chimney was deeply injured with a piece of gurney impaled in his abdomen and despite removing the object, it continued to bleed. While Jo helps him dress his wounds, Chimney is rushed to the hospital as his condition worsens.

Did Kenneth Choi’s Chimney die?

No, Chimney did not die in the show.

Despite suffering serious injuries after the crash, Chimney managed to survive along with Bobby who was also critical. Soon, Chimney is discharged and returns to the firehouse, where the crew gathered for meditation to heal from the trauma of the accident.

Although Chimney recovers from the accident, he is diagnosed with amnesia in 9-1-1 Season 7. It was due to viral encephalitis. He is rushed to the hospital again for urgent treatment and manages to restore his memory. At the end of Season 7, Chimney and Maddy finally exchange wedding vows at the hospital. The duo is back in the eighth season of the series to entertain their fans again. They could be seen temporarily housing the foster daughter of Ken and Haren in the premiere episode of 9-1-1 Season 8.
