In news that will surprise few who have been following the shitshow of a career and trouble personal life of Tom Brady this year, Page Six has reported that the Super Bowl champ and his wife, Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen, have retained divorce attorneys and are headed towards splitsville.
The couple has apparently been living apart since an “epic fight” two months ago. Now comes the tough part: battling it out to see who gets what and where the children will live.
“I never actually thought this argument would be the end of them, but it looks like it is,” an anonymous source told Page Six. “I don’t think there will be any coming back now. They both have lawyers and are looking at what a split will entail, who gets what and what the finances will be.”
The power couple married in 2009 and are parents to their 12-year-old son Benjamin and 9-year-old daughter Vivian. They also co-parent Brady’s 15-year-old son Jack (from his relationship with Bridget Moynahan).
Brady’s net worth is around $250 million, Bundchen’s is around $400 million, and the couple own multiple properties. Financially, they’ll be just fine. But divorce sucks no matter how it happens – or to whom – and no amount of football is going to make Brady feel better when he’s lying down in his Gisele-less bed at night. You may have seven Super Bowl rings, but you only had one wedding ring, buddy. Probably should’ve held onto that.
