We are truly living in a superhero renaissance. It seems like every day we learn about a new superhero TV show or movie from DC, Marvel, or more obscure property that’s in development. We are inundated with superheroes and villains. But yet, even though Ant-Man (and other lesser-known heroes) has his own movies (yes, more than one), there are still a lot of heroes that still don’t have their own films. And while many don’t deserve to be center stage, some certainly do.
While it feels like there are an uncomfortable number of superhero movies already, there are still many heroes who should get their own movie (or movies). Keep scrolling to see 10 side characters who are primed for starring roles.
Marvel Superheroes Deserve Movies

Heimdall
You might not think Heimdall is a superhero as he mostly just guards the bridge to Asgard. But he’s as much a superhero as Thor is. Played by the always dynamic Idris Alba, he died in Avengers: Infinity War, but we’d love to see a back story.

Bucky Barnes
Bucky Barnes (also known as the Winter Soldier) is a really complicated character. While he’s appeared in many movies and in the Disney+ show The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, this complex, anti-hero deserves his own movie.

M'Baku
While M'Baku might not technically be a superhero, he’s a total badass who helped Black Panther defeat Killmonger. Winston Duke is an up-and-coming actor and we want more M’Baku.

Night Wing
While this list is very Marvel-centric, we’ll try our best to add some DC favorites in. One of these is Night Wing, the hero formerly called Robin. Dick Grayson grew up and became this much darker version. Why isn’t there a movie yet?

Adam Warlock
There are few characters more complicated than Adam Warlock. Sometimes a hero, sometimes a villain, and most often an anti-hero, he'd be perfect to explore in a movie.

Nick Fury
Why this agent of S.H.I.EL.D. stalwart doesn’t already have his own movie is the real question. Portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson, we need more of this character than simply cameos.

War Machine
We’ve seen enough of Iron Man. It’s time for War Machine to get his own movie. Plus, we’ll watch anything Don Cheadle does. Marvel and Cheadle? Why not?

Spider Woman
We’ve seen reboot after reboot of Spiderman. It’s time for something a little different. It’s time for Spider-Woman to finally get her own movie.

Valkyrie
It seems the Thor series of movies is ripe for spinoffs. In our opinion, the character most deserving of her own movie is Valkyrie. She’s a brash, no-nonsense character who deserves a film of her own.

Korg
Korg is more of a sidekick than a legit superhero. The funniest character from Thor: Ragnarok, this giant man made of rocks, voiced by Taika Waititi should have his own movie.
