Meanwhile in Las Vegas: Impatient Couple Gets Married Mid-Flight, Likely Honeymooned in Bathroom

Las Vegas is known as a one-stop-shop for impulsive people wanting to get married. But one couple couldn’t even wait for their plane to hit the ground in Sin City before saying “I do.”

Jeremy Salda and Pam Patterson said their vows in an airplane during a Southwest Airlines flight. The airline shared the unusual story in a social media post.

“Last Tuesday, Pam and Jeremy joked that they should hop on a plane to get married in Vegas. It wasn’t long before both realized that the other wasn’t actually kidding, so they booked a flight for Sunday on one of our competitors, with a Vegas wedding chapel appointment Sunday night,” the post read. “Come Sunday, the couple arrived to DFW from OKC, just to learn their connection to LAS was canceled. But that’s when their bad luck ended. Chris, another passenger traveling to LAS from DFW, overheard Pam and Jeremy discussing how they might still get to Vegas in time for their appointment. Chris also happened to be an ordained minister and offered to marry the couple himself!”

The three co-conspirators booked their flights on Southwest and showed up at the gate in wedding attire. That’s when a pilot suggested they have the ceremony during the flight. The couple figured, why not?

Everyone on the plane contributed to the festivities. The flight crew provided toilet paper streamers and a snack mix sash. A flight attendant took over Maid of Honor duties. A passenger who happened to be a professional photographer took pics. And someone else passed an old notebook around as a makeshift guestbook.

This heartwarming story went viral, but all the news outlets failed to address one crucial question: where did the couple honeymoon? We’re going to guess the bathroom. Welcome to the Mile High Club, newlyweds!
