Game of Thrones Prequel ‘House of the Dragon’ to Disappoint Everyone Immediately For 7 Seasons

It’s been over two years since Game of Thrones delivered arguably the most hated final season of any TV show ever. As someone who thankfully never took the time to board the Game of Thrones hype train, it wasn’t a huge shock when one of the most vitriolic fan responses ever took place in the immediate aftermath of the series finale.

Nevertheless, HBO didn’t take much time to greenlight a prequel for the tainted series, which is unsurprisingly called House of the Dragon. The spin-off series will depict “how the House of Targaryen fell into a bitter and brutal civil war known as the Dance of Dragons, which presages the beginning of the end for the ruling family of Westeros.” If anything, the synopsis alone should inspire us to just quit while we’re behind.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood book, House of the Dragon is set to take place some 200 before the events of Game of Thrones. So all you Emilia Clarke fans out there are sure to be let down. In all seriousness, the cast for the series is actually pretty stacked. But if the teaser trailer is any indication, then it seems that series lead Matt Smith may need to look for a new agent sooner rather than later.

Hopefully, they’ll disappoint everyone this time around in seven seasons instead of eight. There’s just too much good stuff to watch these days. In case you somehow still care about Game of Thrones, you can find the teaser trailer for the House of the Dragon below. The series premieres on HBO Max on August 21, 2022.
