Grimes Brutally Drags Space-Ex Elon Musk in New Song (Listen Here First)

That didn’t take long. Less than three months after musical artist Grimes and her baby daddy, Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder Elon Musk broke up, she’s throwing shade at him in a new song. The couple, who was together for three years and share a son named X Æ A-12 Musk, announced their separation in September.

The new tune, titled “Player of Games,” is definitely a breakup anthem. Have a listen here:

“I’m in love with the greatest gamer/ But he’ll always love the game more than he loves me,” the 30-year-old sings, an obvious reference to Musk, who is a notorious gamer.

“Sail away to the cold expanse of space, even love couldn’t keep you in your place,” she croons, presumably about the 50-year-old who can’t help but launch rockets into orbit as a blatant display of his masculinity (or lack thereof).

“If I loved him any less / I’d make him stay / But he has to be the best/ Player of games,” she continues.

The video game-themed music video features a gray-haired, naked, and skeletal Grimes being carried by a man in literal shining armor. A burgundy sash and snow swirl around him as she presses a sword to her bare back. You don’t need a Ph.D. in pop culture to ascertain all the obvious references here.

The internet isn’t exactly crying over the split, however – nor are they applauding the song. Check out these cruel Twitter reactions to the new music release:

We suppose that if you date a singer, everything you do is fair game for a single. We just wish Grimes had fallen in love – and had her heart broken – by anyone else.
