Meanwhile in Marvel: Harry Styles to Play Eros, God of Love and Sex, So He’ll Be Playing Himself

When you go to see Eternals in theaters next week, make sure you stick around for the post-credit scene, because it features someone you’d never expect: Harry Styles.

Yes, the One Direction heartthrob apparently appears at the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest installment as Eros, brother to supervillain Thanos.

All was revealed after the Monday night Los Angeles premiere of the film by Variety film writer Matt Donnelly.

Rumor has it Eros’ superpower is the ability to stimulate arousal from a distance – which really shouldn’t surprise us at all, given that fans have been experiencing this phenomenon for years.

But followers of both Styles and the MCU didn’t appreciate the spoiler.

Not trying to sound rude, but as a Marvel and 1D fan I wish that I could’ve been surprised when I watch it in theaters. Yes there have been rumors that he was in it but I would’ve liked to actually witness it myself then it get spoiled for me. Please don’t spoil things!!

This is incredibly inconsiderate posting. First, there is no spoilers warning. Second, you didn’t even use the right hashtag, so anybody who had it muted would still see it… the movie isn’t out for another couple weeks. And you just ruined it for so many people.

Not wanna sound disrespectful but I assume that if marvel saved that until now, at least as a writer in @Variety you should help them save it as well, not spoil it to everyone else who btw haven’t seen the movie. That was an unprofessional move.

Oh well. Cat’s out of the bag now. And if we understand how arousal works, surprise or no surprise, those who adore Styles will still get all tingly, even if they know what’s coming after the climax. (Ahem.)
